Extending public transportation to Wrightsville Beach is proving unpopular with town officials – yet again.
Instead of voting Thursday night to hold a public hearing next month on WAVE Transit's proposal to raise vehicle registration fees to bring a bus route to the town, the Wrightsville Beach Board of Aldermen voted not to support the idea.Wave Transit leaders want $7 added to county residents' $28 annual vehicle registration fee to fund bus routes to Carolina Beach, Kure Beach and Wrightsville Beach.
