WAVE Plan Shot Down By Wrightsville Beach Board

Thank goodness.  This just shows you how out of touch some on our county commission are.  They advocate for things that even the board of the town that's supposed to benefit the most doesn't want.

StarNews:

Extending public transportation to Wrightsville Beach is proving unpopular with town officials – yet again.
Instead of voting Thursday night to hold a public hearing next month on WAVE Transit's proposal to raise vehicle registration fees to bring a bus route to the town, the Wrightsville Beach Board of Aldermen voted not to support the idea.

Wave Transit leaders want $7 added to county residents' $28 annual vehicle registration fee to fund bus routes to Carolina Beach, Kure Beach and Wrightsville Beach.
