StarNews:
The Wilmington Housing Authority will spend $66,000 on barbecue grills, picnic tables, benches and other amenities for its public housing units in the city. The goal is to decrease the number of personal grills that people have to reduce the risk of fire. Commissioners all agreed at their regular meeting Monday they didn’t want to ban residents from having their own grills.
But commissioner Bo Dean said he didn’t see how adding community grills would take away the risk when personal ones are allowed.
