I was going door-to-door yesterday and saw some things that were astonishing to me. Within the city limits, there were houses with mounds of downed tree branches gathered at the edges of people's yards just waiting to be picked up.
This was over a week after the hurricane. They were all over the place. Piles and piles of them. This is from a neighborhood right by College Rd. and 17th St. The city, unlike the county, is supposed to be picking this stuff up.
This last picture may not capture how large that pile was. It's at least 20 ft. long, I'd say, and probably 5 ft. high or so on average.
So, this is what we're paying trash pick-up for? It's over a week after.
