If Brunswick Co. Can Do It....

I used this information here to estimate that Brunswick Co. schools have a budget of about $101M.  That's about $20M less than the city of Wilmington.

Folks, if Brunswick can make these cuts and see the necessity for it, so can we.

WECT:
School leaders in Brunswick County voted Tuesday night to slash $5.7 million out of its budget. The action was approved by a 3-2 vote.
As part of the plan to save money, the district is also adopting staggered start times.
Elementary schools in the district will start at 7:45 a.m., middle schools will begin at 8:50 a.m. and high schools will start at 8:55 a.m.
The move will save the district $525,000 a year. It will also allow the district to take 30 buses off the road and offer some drivers full time positions.
