Why Public Housing Doesn't Make Sense

StarNews:

The Wilmington Housing Authority is one step closer to tearing down and rebuilding Hillcrest.

[...]The planning grant will help the authority apply for a U.S. Department of Urban Housing and Development Choice Neighborhoods grant that could yield up to $31 million.
That means it will take up to $31M.

Housing vouchers have been found to give just as good results for 60% of the money that building public housing does.  You don't have to worry about infrastructure costs with vouchers.
