Is There Even a Need for a New Bridge?

Chad Adam has an interesting post over at the John Locke blog:

[T]he real problem isn’t the number of bridges (there are three already) or the traffic. It’s the fact that all six lanes of traffic heading in any given direction are squeezed down to two lanes along the causeway. That issue is being addresses by the widening of the causeway which is a priority.

The real issue between the two counties is the outer loops completion from 140 over to Hwy17 in Brunswick which will also address most traffic issue. Short version is that there is NO need for a new bridge and officials are wasting their time (and taxpayer money) in such a pursuit. This is all a guise to support a multi-billion art project called the Skyway Bridge.
